One of the most amazing things about books is being transported to another world! This “Fairytale Destinations” list will show you many places that will feel as though you’re looking through a keyhole to your favorite books. As I find more places that remind me of the books we all know and love, I will continue to add to this list.
No matter what battles are waging, or the different creatures and monsters lurking in the shadows. There’s no denying that a part of us would love to enter these wonderlands we read all about in fiction books.
So, at this point, I’d like to present a list of fantasyland places, that look and feel like you’re in a book. From obvious choices to hidden pockets of magic in this world, join me on this journey. Write down the destinations you would enjoy visiting or can’t live without seeing!
Let’s dive right in!

1. The Isle of Skye, Scotland
Starting strong, The Isle of Skye looks straight out of “The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien”. The northern region showcases vivid green mountain peaks. The southern region involves “Fairy Pools” which are a collection of waterfalls and water pools that are a vivid turquoise blue

2. Rolle Pass, Italy
There will be plenty of fairytale destinations that you could envision laying out a blanket, sitting down, taking a deep breath, and reading a book. This spot is in the top 10 for me wanting to do just that!

3. Lanzarote, Spain
Almost every fairytale has a darker setting. Located in the Atlantic Ocean, some people have never heard of a cave island like this. Does this not look like you would find a Horcrux down there?

4. Cappadocia, Turkey
Next, Cappadocia has geological formations that are a once-in-a-lifetime view. Something authors could describe in a book to make readers’ minds go wild is a true thing of the Earth.

With snow-capped mountains and orange rock formations, this jaw-dropping sight is amazing. Imagine, the different challenges that could take place journeying through these massive rocks to the mountain peaks!

6. Roys Peak, New Zealand
Mountains and huge bodies of water are enough of a fairytale destination. However, there is also a lavender farm, I wonder if you can smell the lavender from the mountain peak.

7. Melchsee Frutt, Swizerland
On one hand, I could totally see myself reading and/or writing in one of these little houses on the hill for days at a time. On the other hand, I could see our main characters holing up in this secret nook of the world while trying to come up with the next steps of their plan!

8. Fujiyoshida, Japan
It’s a no-brainer that Japan would look out of a fairytale book, but going there would be a life-changing experience! I can only imagine the books, fables, etc. written based on this location.

9. Fairy Meadows, Pakistan
During the day it might look like some other mountain peaks, but, at night you can see the magic that fills the sky. The glow from the countless stars highlights this amazing mountain that holds many secrets and creatures alike. Not to mention the lush meadows and forests surrounding them.

10. Rio Negro, Argentina
If someone told me there were fae people, goblins, dragons, wizards, and so on, dwelling here. I would believe them! And if there weren’t all those magical people here, I would sit down listening to an audiobook and stare at this perfect sight for hours!
That’s all for now, there will be more to come though!
Thank You!!
